Authorities in Ozark held an emergency training exercise on Friday.
It took place on the Alabama Aviation Center on Highway 231.
Authorities used student volunteers to simulate a shooter loose on campus.
The exercise gave school officials to analyze and alter their policies in the event this situation does happen.
It was also a chance for local authorities to practice tactics and strategies.
“Basically, what this is is for us to evaluate and engage our weaknesses for future training and we try to make this as real world as possible,” said Ozark Police Chief Tony Spivey.
The Ozark and Dothan Police Deparments along with the Dale County Sheriff's Office all participated.
