Sleepy 18-year-old charged with Alabama burglary

JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (AP) - Jacksonville police investigating a
reported burglary at Bonny Brook Veterinary Clinic in Jacksonville
say they found an 18-year-old sleeping soundly in a break room.

Veterinary assistant Leigh Anne Moody, who reported the break-in
Tuesday morning, said the man, identified as Roman Angel Salinas of
Haneyville, apparently had injected himself with Xylazine.

The drug is used as a sedative for large animals.

She said he'd also taken food from the refrigerator and watched
TV.

Officers say they had to shake Salinas awake.

He was being held in the jail with no bond on a burglar charge.

Police chief Tommy Thompson says officers were waiting for him to fully wake up.
