MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - The Alabama Supreme Court has set execution dates for two inmates, including one who's been on death row more than 30 years.
The court announced Tuesday that it has scheduled the execution of Thomas Whisenhant for May 27 and John Forrest Parker for June 10. The execution dates had been requested by the state attorney general's office after the two inmates lost appeals.
Whisenhant was convicted of capital murder for an abduction, rape and murder in Mobile County in 1977.
Parker was convicted of a murder-for-hire killing of a preacher's wife in Colbert County in 1988.
