Jimmy, Rosalynn Carter to build homes in Alabama

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Two well-known volunteers for Habitat for Humanity, former President Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalynn, are headed to Birmingham.

The Carters have included the Birmingham area on their 27th annual Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project to build homes for Habitat for Humanity.

Greater Birmingham Habitat for Humanity says the Carters will attend a dinner in Birmingham on Oct. 7 and have a work day on Oct. 8.

The Carters plan to work in Fairfield and in the Wylam Oaks subdivision in Birmingham.
