Two men robbed at gunpoint in Dothan hotel parking lots

Dothan, AL - On April 10, 2010, Dothan Police responded to two local hotels in Dothan after robbery of an individual had occurred.

The first incident occurred around 8:40 p.m. in the parking lot of Best Value Inn and Suites.

A male victim from the Fort Mitchell region told responding officers he was approached by two black males who robbed him at gunpoint.

The victim said the perpetrators left in a red Buick that was occupied by two additional black males.

A short time later, at 10:00 p.m., a similar incident occurred at the Hampton Inn.

The victim in this incident was also male, and approached in the parking lot by two black males holding pistols.

The victim, from Deatsville, Al., said he was robbed of cash, as was the first.

The suspects left in a vehicle described as a light brown passenger vehicle, possibly a Sedan or similar style.

The case has been adopted by the Violent Crimes Unit.

Although the crimes were similar in nature, there has been no positive connection between the two.

The two cases are being investigated individually at this time.

Investigators are working with video surveillance in at least one, and possibly, both crimes.

An update with information obtained from surveillance is expected at a later time.

Makes me want to stay out of the big city of Dothan. And Country Crossings isn't even open to take the blame for the crime.
