Body of Missing Student Recovered from Smith Lake

JASPER, Ala. (AP) - Authorities have recovered the body of a
21-year-old student at the University of Alabama at Huntsville who
went missing after a canoe he was in capsized.

Authorities pulled the body of Michael Stutler from Smith Lake
around 4:25 p.m. Monday.

Divers had searched for Stutler's body since March 27, when a
canoe he was in capsized.

Authorities say the Madison County man was in a canoe with two
other men on the Walker County side of Smith Lake when it was
struck by a wind gust and overturned.

Alabama Marine Police have said the other two men swam to a
nearby boat dock.

A press conference will be held at the lake Tuesday at 11 a.m.
