Authorities in Aruba are looking for missing Alabama teen Natalee Holloway once again.
This latest search comes after an American couple took an underwater picture of what they believe might be her remains.
John Muldowney thinks this picture could depict the remains of missing Alabama teenager Natalee Holloway.
“I immediately thought of her knowing that they were still trying to find her and they never had closure on that poor girl…they didn't know and I thought my God, this is Aruba and so that's what got this started we started showing it to cops and the FBI got involved,” said Muldowney.
Muldowney and his wife were on vacation in Aruba back in October of last year.
The Pennsylvania couple was on a snorkeling excursion when his wife snapped the picture.
But the photographs weren't developed until months later.
“So we all start passing the pictures around and Yvette looked at this one and said ‘my god this looks like corpse.’ And then we all looked and said oh my god it does,”
"And right away it dawned on us that poor Holloway girl was never found,"
The Mountain Brook teen disappeared while on vacation in Aruba back in 2005 but this picture has prompted a new underwater search.
Muldowney showed it to friends and family.
"And I said ‘Doc, what do you think?’ he said ‘that's definitely a corpse.’ he said it looks like some rocks down here that are weighing the corpse down,”
He hopes this photo can one day help the Holloway’s heal.
"I hope for closure, God bless 'em,” said Muldowney.
A police diving team will soon do preliminary work at the spot where officials believe the picture was taken.
Muldowney says he sent the photo to the FBI and contacted Holloway's biological dad.
The FBI is analyzing the picture.
