ANNISTON, Ala. (AP) - The company that publishes The Anniston Star has been granted summary judgment in a libel suit brought by a city councilman.
Anniston City Councilman Ben Little had sued Consolidated Publishing over newspaper articles and editorials he said libeled him.
The Star says Judge Malcolm B. Street Jr.'s office has informed an attorney for the newspaper that he was granting a motion and dismissing the case.
The stories centered on alleged connections between Little and a
human resources consultant who received a city contract. Little has
denied any connection to the consultant.
