MONTEVALLO, Ala. (AP) - The University of Montevallo board of trustees is getting ready to choose a new president.
The board is scheduled to interview the two finalists on Wednesday to replace Philip Williams, who is departing after a dispute with the trustees over the powers of his office.
The finalists are Maravene S. Loeschke, president of Mansfield University in Pennsylvania, and John W. Stewart III, vice president for institutional advancement at Flagler College in Florida.
A university spokeswoman says Stewart is not related to the John W. Stewart who served as president of Montevallo from 1989 to 1992.
