Alabama father charged with killing 2-year-old son

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - The Montgomery Police Department says a
father has been charged with capital murder in the death of his
2-year-old son.

Police say officers were called to a home in Montgomery Tuesday
morning after a 2-year-old boy was found unresponsive.

Police say in a news release that the child, Preston Katan, was
found lying in his bed and was pronounced dead of unknown causes.

Officers say the child's father, 25-year-old Jonathan Katan, said he found his son wedged between the mattress and the bed's bumper guard.

Police say an autopsy revealed that the child died from blunt-force injuries to the head, and that the death was a homicide.

They say the father was interviewed and then arrested, and is being held in the Montgomery County jail without bond.

Give him the death penalty. I'm sick of hearing about all of these babies getting murdered. It's time to really crack down on crimes such as these! Zero tolerance! Automatic death penalty.
