Morgan County Teacher Convicted of Sex Crimes

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - A Morgan County jury has convicted a female teacher for sex crimes against a 14-year-old girl.

A jury in Morgan County Circuit Court returned its verdict
Thursday against Jessica Heather Defoor, of Decatur. She was found guilty of sexual abuse and enticing a child for sexual purposes.

Authorities say Defoor admitted taking the child to concerts and
providing her with alcohol, and having her present in her home on
an evening in February of 2006, when she had sexual intercourse
with a man. The child testified that Defoor also subjected her to
sexual contact.

Defoor has been on administrative leave from her job as a second-grade teacher at Danville Neel Elementary School. Sentencing is set for March 30.
