Country Crossing Waits on Answer from Judge

DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) - Country Crossing at Dothan is asking a
federal judge to block a raid by the Governor's Task Force on
Illegal Gambling.

Country Crossing developer Ronnie Gilley says he plans to reopen
immediately if U.S. District Judge Myron Thompson rules in his
favor Monday.

Country Crossing closed to prevent a raid by the task force
early Friday. Task force commander John Tyson is seeking a search
warrant that would allow state police to enter the closed gambling
hall.

The task force also tried to raid VictoryLand in Shorter, but
was blocked by a court order. The Alabama Supreme Court is
considering whether to lift that court order. The two sides must
file their legal arguments by 5 p.m. Tuesday. Meanwhile,
VictoryLand remains open.
