MOULTON, Ala. (AP) -Boys at Lawrence County High sent hundreds of text messages to a Hatton boy to make his phone buzz as many times as possible during class.
Johnny Yates with Lawrence County Schools said the messages were
sent in retaliation of comments the student made on his Facebook
page about rap lyrics.
He said some of the text messages initially appeared threatening
but officials later determined the students didn't intend to threaten anyone.
He said the decision to cancel the Thursday games was in effort
to ease tension, but might have been unnecessary.
The school didn't take disciplinary action against the boys.
