Alabama Congressman Bobby Bright was at the State of the Union Wednesday night, and Thursday, he made a trip to the Wiregrass to tell us about it.
President Obama talked about his concern on the financial state of the country and wants to freeze useless government spending.
Bright says he agrees, and thinks people want to see words turned into actions.
"They want jobs, they want the economy stabilized, and they want us to cut wasteful, needless spending in Washington D.C. I heard President Obama say that is what he intends to do, and you can rest assured that I and many others like me will be standing out there, trying to help him do that. But more importantly, watching him awfully closely and encouraging him to do that," Bright said.
Bright says overall, he thought president Obama gave a good speech.
