in the head while trying to keep his wife from shooting herself has
Colbert County Sheriff Ronnie May says doctors pronounced
31-year-old Devin Willingham dead at 4:15 p.m. Monday at Huntsville
May tells the TimesDaily that Willingham was shot once in the
forehead with a .22-caliber pistol as he struggled to take the gun
from his wife at their home just south of Tuscumbia.
May says Willingham's wife, Brandy, told investigators her
husband was trying to keep her from harming herself after the
couple fought over money.
May says the case will likely be presented to a grand jury to
determine if charges should be filed.
May says the couple's two young children were home during the
shooting but were asleep.
