BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Police say a 63-year-old man was killed
in southwest Birmingham when he was hit by a train.
Police say the 63-year-old was trying to cross the track around
2:30 p.m. Saturday when he was hit by an Amtrak train.
The Birmingham News reports that more than a dozen of the man's
family members were at the scene after the accident.
Family members identified the man as Charles Anthony Jones of
Birmingham. They told the newspaper that Jones had been staying at
a nephew's house near the tracks and was walking to visit his
sister when he was hit.
