Body of missing Hueytown man recovered from creek

HUEYTOWN, Ala. (AP) - Authorities have recovered the body of a Hueytown man who has been missing since last week.

Hueytown Police Chief Chuck Hagler said David Hopkins, who was in his 30s, was pulled from Valley Creek in Hueytown around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

He said foul play isn't suspected.

The Birmingham News reports that police searching for Hopkins said they found evidence he might have wandered off into woods and possibly into the creek.

Divers from the Trussville Fire Department began searching the water Tuesday morning.
