MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - A 30-year-old Lamar County dairy farmer
known for his Internet postings has been elected chairman of the
American Farm Bureau Federation's Young Farmers and Ranchers
Committee.

Will Gilmer was elected to the position over the weekend during
the American Farm Bureau's annual meeting in Seattle.

Gilmer is known for his Internet postings called "The
Dairyman's Blog." Gilmer has also used Twitter, YouTube and
Facebook to talk about animal care, food security, the environment
and other farming issues.

He is the second Alabama farmer in three years to head the
national group. Hale County catfish farmer Townsend Kyser was
elected to the post in 2008.
