2 Dead in House Fire in Mobile

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - Officials in Mobile say a father and son have died as a reult of a late-night house fire.

Mobile Fire-Rescue spokesman Steve Huffman says the fire broke out in a mobile home late Sunday night. He says firefighters encountered heavy fire and smoke and heard what sounded like an explosion.

Huffman says a 68-year-old man was taken to Providence Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Huffman says the son, who was believed to be in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The fire is being investigated by Mobile's Bureau of Fire
Prevention. Identities of the victims have not been released.
