ELKMONT, Ala. (AP) - Three Elkmont girls are charged with stealing $400 worth of art supplies from a portable classroom at Elkmont High School.
The girls are aged 11, 12 and 13 and are not being identified because of their age.
Stanley McNatt of the Limestone County Sheriff's Office tells The News Courier they stole paintbrushes, glue sticks and bottles, markers, pencil sharpeners, gel pens and other items.
McNatt said the three then used the markers to draw on the outside of a classroom window.
A school surveillance camera filmed them walking around the building around 7:30 or 8 p.m. Thursday. McNatt says there were no signs of forced entry.
The girls face charges of third-degree burglary and third-degree criminal mischief.
They were released to their parents after their arrests.
