MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - Heavy fog delayed the arrival in Mobile of
Carnival's Fantasy cruise ship by nearly a day, and the trip for
passengers boarding in Mobile was shortened.
The ship was scheduled to dock Monday at about 7:30 a.m. and
arrived around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Jen Ekman of Mobile, a passenger on the cruise scheduled to end
Monday, said the ship stopped Sunday night, and an intercom
announcement let her know that Fantasy was about 30 miles from
Mobile and would be delayed indefinitely.
The Press-Register reports Ekman said ship officials provided
regular updates, reopened bars and restaurants and provided other
Passengers boarding in Mobile were offered a choice of canceling
the cruise and receiving a credit, or taking a prorated rate for
the missed day.
