MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - The $1.1 trillion appropriations bill
approved by Congress includes projects for Alabama.

Sen. Richard Shelby of Alabama was one of just three Republicans who voted for the bill Sunday. His hometown of Tuscaloosa will get two projects: $5 million for downtown revitalization and $2 million for improvements around the new federal building.

The Lanett Municipal Airport will get $5 million for runway
construction stemming from the new auto plant in West Point, Ga.,
and the Alabama Senior Transportation Program will receive $2
million.

Alabama's other senator, Republican Jeff Sessions, voted against
the bill.
