GADSDEN, Ala. (AP) - A man suffered critical injuries when he was shot late Friday during by a Gadsden police officer during a traffic stop.
Gadsden Police Capt. Jeff Wright says it happened late Friday when an officer stopped a vehicle in the 800 block of Meighan Boulevard and a person in the vehicle fired a shot at the officer.
The person in the vehicle was struck by the officer's bullet.
The unidentified man was flown to a Birmingham hospital for treatment.
This is the second police shooting in Gadsden this year.
A grand jury cleared the officers involved in the previous shooting.
