PHENIX CITY, Ala. (AP) - A 40-year-old man is accused of
stealing brass vases off tombstones across the Chattahoochee
Warren Smallwood was first arrested Monday on charges of
first-degree theft and desecration of a grave out of Phenix City,
Ala. along the Georgia-Alabama border, according to the Columbus

County, Ala. on Tuesday for alleged thefts at Skyview Memorial
Gardens in November.
Police say he would sell the vases, which could bring $200
apiece. Smallwood was being held in the Chambers County Jail. He was in the process of being transferred to Russell County Wednesday
evening, jail officials said.
