AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - A hearing has been scheduled for February in
the case of a man accused of killing an Auburn University freshman
in March 2008.
Lee County Circuit Court Judge Jacob A. Walker III said Tuesday
the hearing will focus on motions to suppress evidence and change
the venue for the trial of 25-year-old Courtney L. Lockhart of
Smiths Station. Lockhart is charged with capital murder during a
kidnapping, capital murder during an attempted rape, and capital
murder during a robbery for the death of Lauren Burk.
He has pleaded not guilty and remains at the Lee County jail
The 18-year-old Burk, who is from Marietta, Ga., was killed on
March 4, 2008.
