Congressman Bobby Bright honored a World War II veteran to mark Pearl Harbor Day Monday.
William carpenter was a soldier stationed in Japan during the war effort.
He and his wife recently moved to Dothan to be closer to their children.
Congressman Bright presented him with a flag that has flow over the capitol building in Washington D.C.
Despite his service to the country, carpenter remains humble.
“I don't consider myself anything special. There's still so many World War II veterans still around,” said carpenter.
Carpenter spent more than two years on active duty in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
