Radio talk show host and civil rights activist Reverend Al Sharpton made a quick visit to Dothan this weekend.
He was visiting friends and family for thanksgiving.
His half brother - Pastor Kenneth Glasgow- organized the Ordinary People’s Society.
Sharpton recognized the group's efforts in rebuilding local neighborhoods.
He also announced his interest in two possible candidates for the Alabama House of Representatives and the senate.
Rev. Al Sharpton, Civil Rights Activist
"I just walked around the neighborhoods to see what Pastor Kenneth Glasgow has done in the neighborhoods. He has provided them with food and we are very proud of everything he is going with the church, TOPS, and other programs. I am concerned that Brother Ford should be the Senator and Brother Keith be the representative" said Rev. Sharpton.
After the short media gathering, Reverend Sharpton went back to New York City.
