DOTHAN – Troy University’s Procurement Technical Assistance Center and the Dothan Chamber of Commerce will host a seminar aimed at helping businesses contract with the federal government.
“Making the Connections, Delivering the Goods” will be offered at the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Dec. 10.
“This is a special presentation designed to help businesses develop business with the United States Government and guide them on what to do once they have,” said Judy Callin, a consultant with the Center. “This instruction is specifically designed for businesses not already heavily involved in government contracting.”
The seminar, which is free to attendees, is divided into two sessions: business development and contract management, and is taught veteran contracting professional Jerry Ellison.
Ellison is a retired active-duty Alabama Army National Guard lieutenant colonel and is past assistant chief of staff. After retirement, he became a government contracting specialist who secured more than $16 million in government contracts in a four-year period. He is currently CEO and owner of Staff Services, Inc., a consulting firm.
A Selma native, Ellison earned a bachelor’s degree in resource management and a master’s degree in teaching from TROY. He has taught numerous courses in the field of psychology as an adjunct professor.
For more information, or to pre-register for the seminar, contact Brenda Marcum at TROY’s Center for International Business and Economic Development at email@example.com or 334-674-2425.
