Law enforcement officials around the country say there's been a spike in recent years of robbers preying on Hispanic victims.
Authorities say the fact that Hispanics frequently carry cash
and are less likely to report crimes makes them attractive targets.
Experts say illegal immigrants frequently have cash on them because it's harder for them to get bank accounts.
Even some who are here legally may have brought a distrust of banks with them from home.
Law enforcement officials say Hispanics, both legal and illegal
immigrants, are also less likely to call police.
To combat the problem, some law enforcement agencies are
reaching out to Hispanic communities to raise awareness and
encourage Hispanics to reach out to them if they have problems.
