Dr. Sandra Sims-deGraddenried served as Executive Director of the Alabama Association of School Boards for 19 years and has been an educator for more than 40 years.
She now becomes the 37th honoree in the hall of fame.
"The Alabama Educational Leadership Hall of Fame is the most prestigious award that an educator can achieve in the state of Alabama. It is a very coveted award. It's a very prestigious award," she told News 4.
The hall of fame was established in 1982 by the Troy University Board of Trustees to recognize outstanding leaders.
