BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Authorities have identified the body of a man found in the trunk of a charred car in St. Clair County more than a week ago.
St.Clair County Coroner Dennis Russell says the man is 36-year-old Derrick Dwayne Wilson.
Wilson was last seen Sept. 17, which was his birthday. He had gone to his mother's Birmingham home to feed his dogs. He was last heard from at 5:30 p.m. that day when he spoke with his wife on the telephone.
Authorities say a person walking their dog in a heavily wooded area found the burned Dodge Charger with Wilson's body in the trunk on Oct. 9.
Russell says they have not determined the cause of death.
