FORT MORGAN, Ala. (AP) - A man is dead after police say he apparently drove his SUV off the ferry dock at Fort Morgan.
Baldwin County Sheriff's Maj. Anthony Lowery told the Mobile Register that passengers on an incoming ferry noticed the submerged vehicle and told the boat's captain about it. Lowery declined to release the victim's name pending notification of family.
Lowery says the vehicle likely ran off the road between late Saturday night and early Sunday morning. The incident is under investigation.
Divers spent hours Sunday pulling the car out of the water, trying not to disturb any potential evidence in the SUV.
