BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Richard Scrushy's fleet of 19 vehicles
is going up for auction to help pay off a $2.9 billion verdict
against HealthSouth Corp. founder stemming from a huge fraud at the
rehabilitation chain.

Luxury cars including a Rolls-Royce and a Bentley will be on
sale Thursday at a wrecker company in Birmingham. Attorneys expect
the auction to generate hundreds of thousands of dollars to help
pay off the court judgment against Scrushy.

A judge earlier this year ordered Scrushy to pay the nearly $2.9
billion civil judgment in a shareholder lawsuit over the accounting
fraud at HealthSouth.

Sheriff's officials say almost 600 people have registered to
bid. Scrushy won't be in the crowd: He's serving time in federal
prison for bribery.
