Troy University is gearing up to offer a new master's degree program.
Starting in January, students will be able to sign up for classes to allow them to graduate with a Masters degree in taxation.
The program was initiated by the Alabama Department of Revenue Commissioner who told troy officials he needed more accounting employees with graduate course work on taxes.
After canvasing many public accounting firms and finding they too had a need for graduates from a similar program, administrators began creating courses for the new degree.
Administrators say several Troy students have already shown an interest in the program and plan to register for the upcoming spring semester.
