Lawrence Co. Commissioner Dead

MOULTON, Ala. (AP) - Authorities are investigating what killed a
Lawrence County commissioner found dead at his home Saturday.

Commissioner John Terry was 42. The County Sheriff's Department got a call Saturday morning after a family member reported being unable to contact him since Friday.

Deputies went to Terry's residence on Lawrence County 150, got no response and made a forced entry at the request of the family.

Officials say that's where they found Terry lying in his bed deceased.

Voters elected Terry in 2006. The first-term commissioner had endured several personal setbacks in the past year, including a DUI arrest last September.

He recently turned himself in on a warrant his wife signed charging him with third-degree domestic violence.
