COLUMBIANA, Ala. (AP) - A woman who police say provided another
woman with prescription drugs to help her kill her ex-husband has
been charged in the murder plot.
Barbara Louise Patterson of Columbiana has been charged with one
count of criminal conspiracy to commit murder.
The 61-year-old is in the Shelby County jail with bond set at $250,000.
Prosecutors say Patterson gave 42-year-old Kimberly Dawn
McGuffie an antidepressant prescription drug to combine with other
McGuffie was arrested last week and charged with hiring what
she thought was a hit man and providing him with drugs to slip into
her ex-husband's drink.
She is being held in the Shelby County jail on $545,000 bond.
