Ala. officer makes arrest in Wal-Mart line

HARTSELLE, Ala. (AP) - Morgan County Sheriff Greg Bartlett says Sgt. Terry Kelly was in line at a Wal-Mart in Hartselle on Tuesday when a woman behind him struck up a conversation.

He saw she was holding a check and realized it was identical to a forged check he picked up earlier in the day.

Bartlett says the off-duty officer identified himself and asked
to see the check, but the woman ran.

She was arrested in the store after a brief struggle that
included an officer subduing her with a Taser.
