A man, who reportedly became delusional while being treated for alcohol withdrawal, broke a window in his hospital room and plunged seven stories to his death.
It happened at Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden.
The coroner says he is not certain of 52-year-old Thomas Harold Smith's mental state at the time of the incident.
No one else was in the room when smith jumped.
Forensics officials will conduct an autopsy before determining whether Smith's death was a suicide or accidental.
