OZARK, Ala. (AP) - Board members approved Monica Foote's resignation during an emergency meeting Thursday.
Schools Superintendent Michael Lenhart said Foote, who was with
the system for about 14 years, resigned after questions Wednesday
concerning irregularities in school funds that involved a
third-party security check.
Lenhart said no money appeared to be missing and Foote made no
statement concerning the discrepancies.
He said the Alabama Department of Education would likely provide
assistance in seeking another CFO to assist in payroll and closing
out last fiscal year's budget.
