MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - Government agencies and environmental groups
are teaming up to build a park along the bank of Mobile's Three
They hope to restore the original creek bed for a kayaking route.
The Mobile Bay National Estuary Program, the Alabama Department
of Conservation & Natural Resources, the Dauphin Island Sea Lab and
the city of Mobile are working together on the project. They've
come up with $110,000 so far.
The first phase of the project, which is expected to begin in
October, will put a park on the western bank of the creek.
