BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - A Jefferson County Circuit Court judge has ordered the closing of a Walker County bingo hall.
Certain bingo halls were instructed to file documents by Aug. 17 in an ongoing lawsuit filed by the county's sheriff and district attorney.
Judge Robert S. Vance said in a Tuesday order that one of the defendants, Magic Touch Charity Bingo, failed to file anything.
Bill Adair, attorney for Walker County Sheriff John Mark Tirey, said deputies were being sent to the bingo hall Tuesday afternoon to comply with the judge's order.
Earlier in the day Vance ordered six other Walker County electronic charity bingo halls to close by 5 p.m. Friday after ruling they were not operating under state and local laws.
