DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) - A Dothan hospital says it's banning children under the age of 12 who are not being admitted as patients.
Officials at Southeast Alabama Medical Center say the decision to ban youngsters from waiting rooms is intended to help stop the spread of the H1N1 flu virus.
Hospital spokesman Steve Pearce says a recent Alabama Department
of Public Health report indicates that two-thirds of the H1N1 flu cases in Alabama involve people under 18.
Other precautions the hospital is taking include banning outside food or drinks and requiring everyone with flu-like symptoms to wear masks.
