ATMORE, Ala. (AP) - Authorities have recaptured an inmate who
escaped from an Alabama state prison by climbing a fence topped
with razor wire.
The state Department of Corrections officials, along with U.S.
marshals, apprehended 35-year-old Devin Nalls during a traffic stop
at I-65 and Hwy. 90 near Mobile at about 3 p.m. Monday.
A second individual in the vehicle may also face charges. Nalls,
who left behind bloody clothes after being cut as he fled, is
believed to have escaped Saturday from the J.O. Davis/Fountain
Correctional Facility in Atmore.
Officers first noticed him missing during a bed check at 9:10
p.m., about two hours after he was last seen. The discovery
prompted guards to search the prison fence, and the bloody clothing
was found near the wire, which also was smeared with blood.
