Former Ala. teacher pleads guilty, awaits sentence

GADSDEN, Ala. (AP) - A former Alabama high school teacher awaits
sentencing after she pleaded guilty to failing to report a sexual relationship between another teacher and a student.

Amanda Alldredge pleaded guilty Monday to failing to abide by a state law that required her to report child abuse.

Authorities say the 31-year-old Alldredge was working at Gadsden City High School when she failed to report that another former teacher was having sex with a 15-year-old student.

Alldredge also pleaded guilty to two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Authorities say she bought alcohol for a minor earlier this year.

Alldredge quit her job in a deal with prosecutors. Prosecutors say she could avoid jail time if she reports to a judge as required.
