Homicide investigated at Jasper bingo hall

JASPER, Ala. (AP) - Walker County Sheriff Mark Tirey said the man, 43-year-old William Cantrell Jr., died after being shot multiple times late Saturday night at the It's Your Lucky Day Bingo Hall in Jasper.

Tirey said Cantrell entered through the front door around 11
p.m., fired his shotgun into the ceiling and hollered that he was
robbing the bingo hall. He told everyone to leave.

Tirey said Cantrell fired more shots at the ceiling, then fired
at a cashier's cage and a safe, Tirey said. He was then shot by an approaching security guard, the sheriff said.

Tirey said security cameras captured most of the incident.
