Car bomb rocks Alabama neighborhood, injures 1

PARRISH, Ala. (AP) - Authorities are investigating a car bomb explosion that seriously injured a man outside a home in Parrish.

Walker County Sheriff John Mark Tirey says the bomb went off Wednesday night, but was confined inside the pickup truck where it was placed. Tirey says investigators are unsure what the device was and how it was detonated.

The victim's name is not being released. Authorities say he was taken to the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital to be treated for burns.

His condition is unknown.
