LOXLEY, Ala. (AP) - A man driving a stolen vehicle in Loxley is
in jail after he was arrested, escaped and was caught again.
Police said 27-year-old Derell Lopez Driscoll was being held Monday night in the Baldwin County Corrections Center after leading officers on a high-speed chase through Baldwin County and Mobile Monday.
Loxley Police Lt. Raymond Lovell said Driscoll is charged with first-degree receiving stolen property, second-degree escape, reckless endangerment and attempting to elude.
The chase reached speeds over 100 mph and when police stopped
the car, Driscoll fled on foot but was caught and arrested. He then
escaped from officers at Loxley jail but was found a few minutes
later behind the jail building.
