A series of conferences for seniors on scams and fraud is coming to the Wiregrass.
The goal of the conference is to empower senior citizens, giving them the information and tools they need to protect themselves from fraud and exploitation.
It's one of a series of regional conferences for senior citizens throughout Alabama being held July 27 through July 31 - with events scheduled in Dothan, Fairhope, Gardendale, Guntersville and Montgomery.
The Dothan session will be held on Monday July 27 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Rose Hill Senior Adult Center, located at 401 South Appletree Street.
The conferences will open with remarks and an overview by Attorney General Troy King and will be led by the attorney general's family protection unit.
