Auburn student killed in tractor accident

COLUMBUS, Ga. (AP) A 23-year-old Auburn University student has died after a tractor he was riding went over an embankment.

Lee County Deputy Coroner Charlotte Patterson said Trenton Carlos McLeod of Prattville, Ala., was at Moore's Mill Club early Sunday morning whn the accident happened. Patterson said McLeod was airlifted to The Medical Center in Columbus where he was taken off life support Sunday evening and was pronounced dead at 7:09 p.m.

Patterson said McLeod worked in maintenance at Moore's Mill Club. She said he was pulling a blower when he went over an embankment.

She said the cause of death was blunt head trauma. She said the accident remains under investigation.

    please note that the victim's name is McLeod, not mccoy. His parents are Cliff and Katrina McLeod, originally from Geneva. His grandparents are Joe & Opal McLeod and Lloyd & Ann Stinson, all of Geneva.
