Alabama man arrested on child sex charges

LAFAYETTE, Ga. (AP) - A Huntsville, Alabama, man has been arrested in northwest Georgia for allegedly attempting to have sex with a minor.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation said 46-year-old Anthony Neely was arrested in Walker County Thursday by FBI agents and officers with the Northwest Georgia Crimes Against Children Task Force.

The FBI said Neely had been engaged in a series of Internet chats with what he thought was a minor child, and was arrested when he traveled from Alabama to Walker County to meet the "minor child."

Neely is being held in the Walker County jail on state charges of criminal attempt-child exploitation.
